Two-Night Getaway Special

Here's what you get with a two-night stay:

  • Complimentary passes for two people for a visit to Hot Sulphur Springs Mineral Baths
  • Fabulous mountain hearty breakfasts
  • Lynn's afternoon treats which might include outrageous chocolate chip cookies, the best carrot cookies you've had or fresh, warm homemade bread plus coffee, tea and juice!
  • Accommodations in one of our queen-sized bedrooms with private baths
  • A complete ethnic (all-American!) meal on your second night

Possible Two-Day Itinerary

Day One:

Leave home early enough to enjoy a leisurely drive through the mountains. Beat the evening dinner crowd and enjoy an early dinner at any of the great restaurants in Dillon or Frisco (off I-70) or in Winter Park, if you come via Hwy 40.

Enjoy a scenic drive after your early dinner to Casa Milagro and watch for deer, elk and foxes (once in a while we see some moose). We'll have evening snacks waiting for you -- hot coffee, tea or hot chocolate and mouthwatering chocolate chip or carrot cookies or homemade bread!

Day Two:

Wake up to your hearty breakfast of orange jubilee, baked chile rellenos, bacon, homemade tortillas, fresh fruit, tortillas and cinnamon rolls. Breakfast is usually served at the "crack of nine" so you can enjoy sleeping in! After breakfast you can go on a short hike across the river at Morgan Gulch and up into the pines.

Today you might want to drive to Granby to the gift and antique shops, then back to Hot Sulphur Springs to the Grand County Museum! Those of you who fly fish might want to try your luck on our river or the Colorado River! Then, it's time for relaxation in the mineral baths, and, perhaps, a massage or facial. Finally, it's back to the Casa for some afternoon treats, including antipasto followed by taking a short siesta, watching a movie, or finishing that book you've been itching to get to, and, then, dinner!.

In the morning you'll awaken to fresh coffee and tea, juice, yogurt and fruit, baked puff pancakes with apples, peaches and whipped cream and green chile sausage. Breakfast, snacks and dinner are all served in the great room where you have views out the windows of the stellar jays, chickadees, pine trees and river!

Night-Two's "All American Ethnic" Meal

On your second night at Casa Milagro you will have a complete ethnic (all-American!) meal served family style which will include the following:

Antipasto -- ? this is Lynn's family's "soul food". Lynn's mostly Italian mom, Georgiana, always fixes this hearty appetizer for family get-togethers! If you like tuna, marinated olives, mushrooms, onions, artichoke hearts, a little anchovy, and "more", you'll love this! Add some Ritz crackers or French bread and you almost have a meal!

Paul's green chili stew -- ? Paul's grandmother, Mathilda, was Swedish and Mexican and his other grandmother, Helen, was German! What you get is a great stew as only the Europeans can cook them, flavored only as the Mexicans can do!

Lynn's homemade tortillas -- ? as the oldest girl in a family of eight children, Lynn's Saturday chores included making bread for the week! These mouthwatering tortillas are great with honey! You'll leave with a couple of packets of tortilla mix to fix at home!

Pogatica cake -- ? Pogatica is holiday nut bread Lynn's Slavic Aunt Lena used to fix for special occasions. You will love this mouthwatering treat that combines all the delicious flavors of the nut bread into a holiday cake!
